Alberta Liberal Policies Top All Other Parties

In areas that matter most to Albertans, the Alberta Liberals continue to put forward the best ideas to address the issues that matter most to Albertans - issues like Health Care, Education, the Environment and many others. The Alberta Liberals have the most comprehensive policies to create the positive changes Alberta needs - and the ability to implement it as soon as we are elected. This is according to several non-partisan groups, visit our News & Views page for more details.

Real Change

It’s time – to believe in democracy again.

By the time the election is called, I will have visited most of you at the door.  I have been knocking on doors daily since my nomination – regardless of the weather. I want to meet every constituent, face-to-face. I want you to personally know who is representing you - the way democracy should be.

Your voice matters.  Here’s why…

When I am elected, everything that the Alberta government will be discussing that affects my constituents will be posted on my website, along with my opinion, and a forum where my constituents will be able to let me know their thoughts.

Calgary has a higher rate of internet usage than any other Canadian city¹. There is no reason why you should have to take time out of your busy schedule to try to figure out what your MLA is doing.  It is my duty to tell you what is happening at the legislature and what I am doing on your behalf as your representative. Getting an update once a year telling you all the wonderful things your MLA has done in your name is not democracy.

I will tell you exactly what I am doing, what my thoughts are, and make it easy for you to let your voice be heard – before the decisions are made.  This will allow you to be part of the decision making process and not just a democratic bystander.  I am here to represent you - the way democracy should be.

Freedom to vote in the best interests of my constituents.

Listening to constituents is purely superficial unless you have the ability to represent them with your vote. Being told to tow the party line, regardless of what you or the people you represent think, is not democracy. As an Alberta Liberal, I have the ability to vote freely on behalf of my constituents - the way democracy should be.

I encourage all other candidates to take these ideas and incorporate them into their platforms. Change the system. Renew the people's faith in democracy by actually taking steps to listen to their thoughts and then act on that information by voting accordingly.
